Fostering taught me about life. Are you having trouble getting your family healthy? We did. Are you having difficulty with your children? Your adopted child? Your foster children? Do you have a child with a chronic illness? More and more I meet people who are so tired of all the sickness and they give up.
This is how I felt years ago. Today is completely different. I am empowered, educated, experienced, and encouraged. I figure God didn’t put our family through all of this and bring us back for just us! So I hope to inspire my followers to “hang in there”, recover, and do it without losing all your resources and faculties.
The Beginning of Real Food Recovery…a little more.
It’s an humble beginning, a path to salvation. I’m speaking for the whole person, not just the spiritual. It certainly isn’t easy, but neither was the path we were in. We have faced so many chronic illnesses with our children. We thought we were alone until we began to foster children in hopes to adopt these orphans. Each one came to our home with some sickness. I began to realize that there are so many souls that are sick. And it isn’t just the older folks now.
But there is hope! By coming together with some allopathic and many holistic approaches; Recovery is possible. You can do this! I promise it gets better. Never Give Up! And the reason I know, is because we live it every day. And every day we get better through Fostering Nutrition.
Recovery is Real! It is possible!
We have been so successful at dealing with so many challenges, we want to share how to overcome: sicknesses, difficulties, and more importantly discovering remedies through foods and diet, spiritual awareness, emotional health, real love, and real children.
In the beginning….at 12 years old I decided I wanted to adopt and birth children. In college I donated time in orphanages/children’s homes. Read my Thank You note And when a wonderful man proposed, the conditional acceptance was on his promise that we could adopt children who didn’t have families. His promise held true.
In the Trenches
Our first birth child entered the world with some medical complications…so we changed our diet, our lifestyle, our education, and our work arrangement. Amazingly we ALL began to get better. Here’s more on my About page. But after taking 5 years to get pregnant, we were now with 3 boys under 3 years old. Guess getting healthy was a game changer! And each child gets healthier we get healthier. So now we endeavor to adopt.
My husband and I sit in a simple office with a very sweet girl who asks us what “kind” of child we want. The price is different based on ethnicity.
I was shocked and blurted, “As if one shoe is better than the other” as tears began to well up in my eyes!”
“Oh, no”, the agency employee gently responds, “It’s just supply and demand”…We left the office a little shaken.
Thus began our journey to just take what God gives. After researching the options, consulting friends and family, we decide to Foster. Wow! What an adventure this has been. There are all kinds of stigmas attached to this, but the fact remains that over 400,000 US children and over 13 Million children worldwide need a family. So our family chooses to ignore the negative concerns and help these kiddos.
Additionally, I had started pre-med work after my first son’s birth challenges threw us for a loop. Then I switched to nutrition when my MD friends shared their stories of protocols and experiences. I really wanted to be in the healing game and be able to use natural means. There was a “huge elephant in the room” in the medical course work. Every healing came through synthetic pharmaceutical remedies. Therefore, I chose to study nutrition and food supplements as a more natural cure without synthetics. Having our medical system for catastrophic needs is very important. Therefore both are valuable.
And now as we begin to Foster…Well, I do not believe in coincidences. Almost every child we bring into our home has an illness: cancer, eczema, allergies, gum disease (at 18 months old!), ADD, and more. It is appalling now that 1 in 2 children have a chronic illness. We see it in the children coming into our lives! I continue to get certifications in the natural world and find great reward watching children learn to eat real healing food and thus improve within months.
The Calling that Chose Us
When we lost our first shared-son to secondary cancer, we wrote a book, “How Our Family Survived“, sold our former life, and bought a small piece of land and started Fostering Nutrition. Now we share our journey of 7 children we try to adopt and the most incredible, life-changing results. Although we lost one son to cancer from his chemotherapy, his legacy continues through our effort to help other children and families.
We know that how we eat and live is our SECRET POWER to recover from most ailments. And our message is filled with HOPE…practical experiences and recoveries of many illnesses. You and your family can get healthier!
Our joy is teaching and transforming your health.
